Secure Work Item Control - Set Preferences

You can secure the Set Preferences work item control in the Work items list window

To secure the Set Preferences control for the Contributor user

1. Log on as the Administrator user.

2. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

3. In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page appears.

4. Right-click the Contributor security group, and then click Edit. The Modify a Security Group page appears.

5. Uncheck the Can Set Preferences right.

6. Click Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

7. Click Submit. As the work item control rights cannot be customized other than at repository level, there is no need to synchronize.

8. Click OK in the confirmation window.

9. Log on as a user who belongs to Contributor security group. This user is now unable to view the Set Preferences control.
