The Design mode allows the user to even delete the web part along with the Minimize and Restore options. The user can also move custom web parts into any of the web part zones.

For more information on adding a web part to the zones, refer to Adding Web Part to the Web Part Zone.

To view the Design Mode

  1. Go to Enterprise Console > Settings > Web Part Settings > Page 1.

  2. Expand the Web Parts Settings bar.

  3. In the Web Part Display Mode drop-down list, select the Design mode. 

    The Design mode is displayed on the screen.

You can see that in the design mode the Web part Zones are displayed as Web Part Zone Header, Web Part Zone Left, and Web Part Zone Right. The user can also use the minimize zone option and also delete the zone option. On using the minimize option, the user can click the Restore option in the same drop-down list to restore the web part zone.
