In the Load Balanced Server, it is mandatory to check if all the machines (AVEVA Work Tasks Server and the Client) are able to communicate with each other before installation using Multicast protocol.
AVEVA Work Tasks provides a tool called Multicast tool which you can use to verify the multicast communication between machines on the same subnet. The Multicast tool ensures that all machines used for AVEVA Work Tasks Server installation are able to communicate with each other. This test ensures that all the Server machines involved can actively support Load Balancing and Failover support feature of the Enterprise Server.
The Multicast tool can be copied on your local hard disk. To check communication between machines, the Multicast tool must be run simultaneously on all the machines.
Messages received from all the machines are displayed by the Multicast tool indicating that the machines are able to communicate with each other. A machine not able to receive or display messages from other machines indicates that the machine is not able to communicate with other machines.
More details are provided in specific installation scenarios on how to use this tool.
Example
The following example illustrates after running the Multicast tool from machines <ServerName1> and <ServerName2>.
The following image shows message from <ServerName1>:

The following image shows message from <ServerName2>:

The above figures indicate that there is a successful communication between <ServerName1> and <ServerName2> machines.
