Activate (provision) AVEVA Measurement Advisor

Warning: An activated AVEVA Measurement Advisor service consumes flex credits as stipulated in your service rate plan. For more information, see Understand Flex credits and its subtopics.

After AVEVA turns on your AVEVA Measurement Advisor subscription, AVEVA Measurement Advisor is ready for activation. To activate AVEVA Measurement Advisor, you must have Account Administrator privileges. Activating AVEVA Measurement Advisor provisions the required hardware and software resources, such as the database, needed to run AVEVA Measurement Advisor as a service in the cloud. After activation, AVEVA Measurement Advisor is available for use by all your users.

Note: If needed at any time, you can suspend your AVEVA Measurement Advisor service. For more information, see Suspend/reactivate your AVEVA Measurement Advisor service.

Prior to activating AVEVA Measurement Advisor, it may be helpful to familiarize yourself with the use of folders in the context of CONNECT. AVEVA Measurement Advisor can be activated only at the "folder level." Therefore, you must first have a folder or make a folder to be able to activate AVEVA Measurement Advisor. The steps below describe how to create a new folder. After you create the new folder, the AVEVA Measurement Advisor service card will automatically be added to the folder. Then, use the service card to activate AVEVA Measurement Advisor.

To activate AVEVA Measurement Advisor

  1. As an Account Administrator, sign on to the CONNECT account that contains your AVEVA Measurement Advisor subscription.

    Note: If you are a member of only one account, you are signed into that account automatically.

  2. Select Folder management.

  3. Select Add Folder.

    The Add folder page opens.

  4. Enter a Folder name.

  5. Accept the current one or change the geographical Region where you require the AVEVA Measurement Advisor service to be provisioned.

  6. Select an Image to use on the folder.

  7. Select Save.

    The folder is created, and the main folder page opens.

  8. In the Services section, locate the AVEVA Measurement Advisor folder tile.

    Notes: If you are a user with multiple accounts and do see the AVEVA Measurement Advisor tile in the list, try switching accounts.

    If you are a user with multiple user identities and do not see AVEVA Measurement Advisor in the list, try signing out and then resigning in with the required alternate CONNECT user ID. (This option is available if your organization has configured the Switch User functionality. For information on Switch User functionality, contact your AVEVA Customer Service Representative.)

  9. Slide the switch to the On position.

    A message requesting confirmation is displayed.

  10. Select Enable.

  11. If AVEVA Measurement Advisor is unavailable in your chosen region, you are prompted to choose an alternative Region.

  12. Select Save.

    AVEVA Measurement Advisor provisioning begins in the selected geographical region. Provisioning takes about thirty minutes.

    If errors occur during provisioning, the system displays error details on the AVEVA Measurement Advisor service card. Your AVEVA Customer Service Representative will work closely with you to resolve them.

    After provisioning completes, the options to manage the service (for example, to manage user roles) become available. In some cases, you need to reload your webpage to view them. To continue with AVEVA Measurement Advisor, see Manage AVEVA Measurement Advisor.
