Configure a new organization

On the Organization Summary window, select New.

The Organization Properties window for New appears.

Configure the items on the Organization tab:

• Name

• Description

• Organization Type

• Input/Output

• Unit Profiles

• Dataset

• Postal Address

Select the Meter Aliases tab.

Select New.

A new row appears.

To assign a meter to the organization, do one of the following:

• Hover over the Name field. Select the following icon () that appears.

  The Meter Summary dialog appears.

  

• Enter in the meter Name.

Enter an alias for the meter.

The alias provides another source of identification for the meter. Data from an external source can be imported to Measurement, and can be identified in one of two ways:

• Using the alias as well as the associated organization name.

  Note: In the event that an alias is used without the organization name, Measurement will assume that the value entered is a meter name, as entered in the Properties for Meter window. Since it is unlikely that the assigned alias would match any meter name, at this point, the data is rejected.

• Using the meter name as defined in the Properties for Meter window.

Select the Gas Quality Aliases tab.

Select New.

A new row appears.

To assign a gas quality (GQ) to the organization, do one of the following:

• If you hover over the Name field, select the following icon () that appears.

  The Summary window appears and you will be able to select the desired GQ from the list.

• Enter the GQ Name.

Enter an alias for the GQ.

Select the Measuring Station Aliases tab.

Select New.

A new row appears.

To assign a measuring station to the organization, do one of the following:

• If you hover over the Name field, select following icon () that appears.

  The Measuring Station Summary window appears and you are able to select the desired measuring station from the list.

• Enter in the measuring station name.

Enter an alias for the measuring station.

Select Save to save the new organization.

Note: After you have initially configured your organization, it is possible to go back and edit it at any time.
