AVEVA™ Measurement Advisor

Station validation tab

  • Last UpdatedDec 09, 2024
  • 2 minute read

The Station Validation tab displays the configuration for the validation checks that the system performs against incoming data.

When enabled, incoming data undergoes a series of checks against discrete values, historical values, and station averages/totals. The outcome of these tests determines the quality of each measurement reading for the purposes of identifying and editing problematic or erroneous readings. You can configure station data validation check settings on a per-station basis. The Problematic Context for Station window indicates whether or not data passed a validation check.

Description

Average Pressure Check

The system checks whether the average, flow-weighted pressure at a station differs from the pressure at each connected meter by more than a configured tolerance.

Enable

Select to enable the Average Pressure Check.

Tolerance (%)

Enter the percentage amount by which the pressure value at the station can exceed the pressure at the meter.

Average Temperature Check

The system checks whether the average, flow-weighted temperature at a station differs from the temperature at each connected meter by more than a configured tolerance.

Enable

Select to enable the Average Temperature Check.

Tolerance (%)

Enter the percentage amount by which the temperature value at the station can exceed the temperature at the meter.

Station Run Ratio Check

Depending on the configuration as detailed below, the system performs one of the following checks:

  • Fixed Run Ratio Check. The system checks if the volume at each connected meter, as a fixed percentage of the volume at the station, differs by more than a configured tolerance. Provided that the multi-run station does not use run switching, the volumes, pressures, and temperatures should remain consistent (within a factor of each other).

  • Dynamic Run Ratio Check. The system checks if the volume at each connected meter, as a percentage of the volume at the station based on active meters, differs by more than a configured tolerance.

While the same percentages are used as in the Fixed Run Ratio check, occasionally some meters may be deactivated. At such times, the system dynamically calculates the expected percentage for each meter using the active meters. Meter activity is based on volume greater than, or equal to zero.

Enable

Select to enable the Fixed Run Ratio check, or, if Dynamic Run Ratio is also selected, the Dynamic Run Ratio check.

Dynamic Run Ratio

Select to enable the Dynamic Run Ratio check.

Tolerance (%)

Enter the percentage amount by which the volume at a meter, as a percentage of the volume at the station, can exceed the total volume at the station.
