AVEVA™ Measurement Advisor

Understand why problems were deleted

The problemAudit table contains the procedure name that deleted the problem record.

In order to understand why the problem was deleted, you need to know the basic data flow through AVEVA Measurement Advisor. All changes to the data create an audit trail by a set of routines collectively called the Adjustment Manager. For information on how to understand the additional information provided by the Adjustment Manager when deleting problem records, see Interpret the Procedure name column.

For gas quality (GQ) data, the data flow is as follows:

  • Data arrives in AVEVA Measurement Advisor

  • New data sent to GQ validation

  • If the arriving data already has an existing row, it is sent to a routine called the Adjustment Manager

  • The Adjustment Manager uses rules to determine if the row should be rejected or a new audit created

  • If a new audit is created, problems are deleted and it is sent to GQ validation

  • If the record is valid, it will potentially cause associated meter data to be recalculated

  • The Adjustment Manager for the recalculated meter data will delete any problems for that meter

For meter data, the data flow is as follows:

  • Data arrives in AVEVA Measurement Advisor

  • New data is sent to Precalc Validation to verify that all of the inputs to a calculation are correct

  • If no calculation is required, then it goes to the Post Calc Validation routines to check the volume and energy and perform other complex validation.

  • If a calculation is required, the data gets recalculated and sent to the Adjustment Manager

  • If the arriving data already has an existing row, it is sent to the Adjustment Manager

  • The Adjustment Manager uses rules to determine if the row should be rejected or a new audit created

  • If a new audit is created, problems are deleted and it is sent to either Precalc or Post Calc Validation

For configuration changes, the data flow is as follows:

  • The system determines if the configuration change requires a meter to be recalculated and if so it will send the data to be recalculated

  • After it is recalculated, it will be sent to the Adjustment Manager

  • The Adjustment Manager uses rules to determine if the row should be rejected or a new audit created

  • If a new audit is created, problems are deleted and it is sent to Post Calc Validation

For client application changes, the following occurs:

  • Meter Data Editor changes will go through the Adjustment Manager

  • You may request a revalidation of the rows, which will cause existing problems to be deleted by validation

  • You may request a backend recalculation of the rows, which will cause existing problems to be deleted by the Adjustment Manager
