Add new numeric sets and units

This section will guide you through the process of adding new numeric sets and units.

Before you begin, it is important to have a clear understanding of the difference between a numeric set and a unit:

  • An example of a numeric set is Temperature.

  • The units for this numeric set would be Celsius, Kelvin, Fahrenheit and Rankin.

    • Units can be be used by multiple numeric sets. For example, corrected volume and uncorrected volume both use the same units.

  • A unit profile allows you to define what units should be used for each of the numeric sets. Through the configuration of a unit profile, the units used for each of the numeric sets can be defined.

This procedure contains an example of how to add a Voltage numeric set. Voltages can be a useful way to monitor battery voltages at a solar-powered station.
