AVEVA™ Measurement Advisor

Rejected readings

  • Last UpdatedSep 24, 2024
  • 2 minute read

Newly-captured gas flow/gas quality (GQ) readings and configuration are processed by the Reading Manager application prior to performing full data validation checks.

The inbound data is checked for database object matches and is either passed or failed based on the matches found for each data element of the reading.

The system can reject readings as a result of many problems.

Examples:

  • Invalid date stamp.

  • Meter/gas quality name does not exist in the database.

  • Duplicate data.

  • Configuration is not complete (e.g., the meter is not connected to a measurement point).

  • Too far in the past.

  • Too far in the future.

  • Connection state is blinded or retired.

  • Supplied data quality is of unknown type.

  • Supplied unit profile is unknown.

  • An important element of the reading is invalid or blank.

  • An existing version of the reading is in the database, and business logic prevents it from being replaced by a new reading.

If the reading is rejected, it is held by the Reading Manager to be looked at later. If the reason for rejection indicates a problem that can be easily remedied, you may make an adjustment and re-submit the reading to the Reading Manager. If the reading passes after being re-submitted, it is then flagged for data validation. If there are problems with meter or data quality values, they are flagged by the data validation system for editing via the meter data/GQ data. For more information, refer to Meter data editor.
