Retrieve modified files / process all files

  • Last UpdatedDec 19, 2024
  • 1 minute read

This section is designed to provide an example of how the Retrieve Modified Files and Process All Files options function when one, or both, options are selected.

Example

Processing Order: Name, Ascending (Asc)

  • File Import 1. New

  • File Import 2. Already Retrieved

  • File Import 3. Modified

The first thing assessed by the File Import tool is the Processing Order. In this case, it is Name, Ascending (Asc). This dictates the order in which they will be processed.

If Process All Files is turned off, it ignores all of the files with the exception of the last file according to the Processing Order. File Import 3, therefore, may be processed if Retrieve Modified Files is selected, but none of the others will be at that time.

If Process All Files is turned on, then all files may be processed.

At this point, the state of the file import record is assessed. If the file has already been retrieved, it will not be retrieved again, unless it has been modified and Retrieve Modified Files is enabled.

No retrievals performed because File Import 3 (the last in the Processing Order) has already been retrieved, and we are not Retrieving Modified Files.
