Note: As explained below, this configuration check requires manual validation processing if a discrepancy is detected.
When configuration settings for field equipment are sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor , a Configuration Check ensures that both field and Measurement Advisor equipment configuration match. Specifically, in Measurement Advisor, CD_CONFIG_TOLERANCE is used to determine if the configuration changed and needs to be updated. Configuration can be checked on configured items such as Tube Diameters, K Factors, and Atmospheric Pressure settings.
If the configuration item is numeric, the following algorithm is used to detect inconsistent configuration settings:
Tol <|ValDB – Valnew|
Where:
-
ValDB = Measurement value already in database.
-
Valnew = New measurement value from the field.
-
Tol = Tolerance limit in Val units. The default is 0.0001.
If the configuration item is text, AVEVA Measurement Advisorperforms a case-sensitive string comparison for the configuration check.
When a configuration difference is found
-
When the field data is correct, update the AVEVA Measurement Advisor configuration settings to reflect the new settings retrieved from the field equipment. The change is effective from the time the field equipment event log indicates the change occurred. The expiry date of the previous configuration is set to the effective date of the current configuration. You can configure a meter or gas quality (GQ) to automatically accept a field value.

When the AVEVA Measurement Advisor configuration data is correct, reject the field value, and update the field device with the current configuration in AVEVA Measurement Advisor.
