Configure meters for bidirectional flow

Notes: Flow Direction refers to the direction of the flow that is stored with the meter in AVEVA Measurement Advisor. The meter receiving the reading generally has the flow direction set to positive, and is thus defined as the forward flow meter.

The Bidirectional Meter Pair property is only visible in the Meter Properties if the CD_BIDIRECTIONAL_METER_PAIR is set to Y in the Object Registry. Configuration of the CD_BIDIRECTIONAL_METER_PAIR is carried out in SQL Server Management Studio.

Paired Meter refers to the name of the other meter in the Bidirectional Meter Pair.

To configure meters for bidirectional flow

1. Open the Meter Summary window.

2. Right-click on the Meter and select Properties from the action menu.

3. In the Properties window, look for the Bidirectional Pair section.

   The Bidirectional Pair section contains the fields that need to be configured when creating a bidirectional meter.

4. Choose the desired settings for the Paired Meter and the Flow Direction of the meter in order to configure the bidirectional meters.
