About an automatic accounting close

An automatic Accounting Close is attempted whenever a physical measuring station is closed. When a physical station is closed, an Accounting Close will be done for the closed physical station and any of the logical stations connected with the meters at the closed physical station. These stations will have an Accounting Close performed if the following criteria is met:

  • The meters connected to the associated logical station are also not connected to an open physical station.

  • The station does not have data in the station balancing queues waiting to be processed. In instances where there is data for the station in the balancing queues, the auto close will wait and continue to retry the accounting close until the data has been processed.

  • Only stations are automatically closed. Any connected higher level objects in the balance hierarchy will be marked as partially closed. All partially closed accounting objects must be closed before the next automatic closure, otherwise, the automatic closure will fail. If the automatic closure of any of the stations fail, the stations can be manually closed individually or by closing the connected higher level objects in the balance hierarchy.
