Volume ratio checks

When the system detects a difference between the volume provided by the field and the volume calculated by the system, it can be made to flag or replace the volume. Depending upon the type of meter configured, these settings are accessible on the Properties for Meter: Orifice EFM tab, the Corrector Meter tab, and the Pulse EFM tab.

  • The Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) reports Volume > 0, while the host calculates Volume = 0 (in other words, differential pressure/pulse count is 0).

  • The RTU reports volume = 0 (due to a low flow cutoff in the RTU). Meanwhile, the host calculates volume > 0 due to a positive differential pressure / pulse count reported by the RTU.

  • The volume reported by the RTU differs from the host-calculated volume such that the volume ratio (RTU volume divided by the host-calculated volume) is outside of the configured limits.

Note: The check assumes that the telemetry calculation policy hasn't been set to recalculate volume.

The figure below demonstrates the validation.
