Line segment properties

Adjustment reasons are required for all edits made to the properties. For more information, refer to Write an adjustment reason.

The following table details the line segment properties.

Item

Description

Name

Where the name of the line segment appears.

Note: The Last Modification Time, as well as the last member to modify the Name field appear in the last two columns of the Properties window.

Description

The Description field allows you to enter a description of the line segment.

Type

Defining the type will allow you to define whether the entity is in existence as a physical pipeline, or if is simply used for record keeping or accounting purposes.

Sub Region

Defines the balance sub region that the line segment is connected to.

Stations

Defines the measuring station that the line segment will link to.

Enable Inventory Tracking

Select this checkbox to track daily inventory. In order for the inventory tracking to be successful, an initial inventory must be set on the date the tracking should start. For more information about setting an initial inventory, refer to Initial inventory settings.

Apply water vapor correction to

When the user is viewing the data in a Wet unit profile, the Water Vapor Correction Factor (WVCF) will be applied to the Volume or the Heating Value (and hence the Energy) according to this setting. For more information about unit profiles, refer to Unit summary.

Thermal calculation

The thermal calculation method can be selected from the dropdown menu next to the assigned value. The options available for selection are as follows:

  • American Gas Association AGA-5

  • Gas Processing Association (2145) Measurement is compatible with the standards tables released in the following years:

    • 1996

    • 2000

    • 2003

    • 2009

Calculation Policy

The calculation policy can be selected from the dropdown menu next to the assigned value. The options available for selection are Manually initiated or Automatic.

Calculate Monthly

Selecting the Calculate Monthly checkbox will provide balance data calculated from the monthly data at the connected measuring stations.

Calculate Daily

Selecting the Calculate Daily checkbox will provide balance data calculated from the daily data at the connected measuring stations.

Calculate Hourly

Selecting the Calculate Hourly checkbox will provide balance data calculated from the hourly data at the connected measuring stations.

Calculate 15 minute

Selecting the Calculate 15 minute checkbox will provide balance data calculated from the fifteen minute data at connected measuring stations.

AOR Group

Selecting an Area of Responsibility (AOR) Group will assign responsibility to a group of users for a particular measuring station. Select the following icon () next to the assigned value to select an AOR group. The Select an AOR Group window appears.

Dataset

Defining the dataset that is used to gather measuring station information. Select the following icon () next to the assigned value to select a Dataset and the Dataset Summary window appears.

Balancing Category (Information Only)

  • Accounting

    The Balancing Category is not used during processing, and can be used to categorize information.

    Accounting is one of the categories provided by the Measurement application.

  • Measurement

    The Balancing Category is not used during processing, and can be used to categorize information. Measurement is one of the categories provided by the Measurement application.

  • Both:

    The Balancing Category is not used during processing, and can be used to categorize information. Both an accounting and a measurement object is one of the categories provided by the Measurement application.

Summing Rule

There are two options available for selection:

Units

Defines the units that the property will be measured in.

Date / Time Effective

This column displays whether or not the property has been defined to be date/ time effective.

Eff. Time

This column displays the effective time (only applicable if the property has been defined as date-time effective).

Exp. Time

This column displays the expiry time (only applicable if the property has been defined as date-time effective).

Last Mod Time

This column indicates the time when the property was last modified.

Last Mod User

The column indicates who last modified the property.
