The Initial Inventory information can be displayed in one of two ways on the Line Segment Balance Data window. Switching granularities changes how the information is displayed.

To change the appearance of the initial inventory

  1. Open User Options.

  2. On the System Preference tab, under the Default Balance View Granularity, select the granularity at which the balancing information should be displayed.

By default, the Initial Inventory information displayed on the Line Segment Balance Data window appears in the selected granularity. The information displayed in the Inventory Volume MCF, Inventory Energy MMBTU (60), and Inventory Mass lbm columns account for the inventory at the end of the period.

The end of period values are calculated in the following manner:

The Adj. Beginning Volume MCF, Adj. Beginning Energy MMBTU (60), and Adj. Beginning Mass lbm values are added to the Net values (Net Volume MCF, Net Energy MMBTU (60) and Net Mass lbm) to create the Inventory Volume MCF, Inventory Energy MMBTU (60) and Inventory Mass lbm values on the Line Segment Balance Data window.

  3. To change the granularity of the Line Segment Balance Data information, select one of the buttons on the toolbar:

    • Monthly

    • Daily

    • Hourly

    • 15 Minute

Changing between granularities can affect the location of the Inventory Volume MCF, Energy MMBTU (60) and Mass lbm information on the Line Segment Balance Data window. In addition, it can also affect whether the information accounts for the start or end of the period.

After switching back and forth between granularities, you may find that the information appears as sections displayed above the grid. Displayed in this fashion, the Inventory Volume MCF, Energy MMBTU (60) and Mass lbm sections account only for inventory at the start of the period.
