The Spread Cplus application allows a value (Cx+) to be spread from C6 through C10.

This is designed to handle cases where a gas analysis source (usually a Gas Chromatograph) cannot provide the individual concentration of C6, C7, C8, C9, and C10, and instead provides a remainder value (the sum of the concentrations of C6 to C10). The Spread Cplus is date-time effective.

The Spread Cplus feature calculates the concentration of each component, as follows:

Where:

  • Cn = the concentration of the n component (C6 to C10).

  • Cxplus = reported concentration from Cx to C10 which is to be spread

  • x = x is the Cx plus Type setting. This can be set to a number from 6-10.

  • Kn = the n component Spread Weight.

In the table above, the Cx plus Type is set to C6+. When a component Spread Weight is set to 0 and the component is included in the spreading based on the Cx plus Type, the resulting spread value will be 0.

Setting the Cx plus Type to the proper setting ensures that any values sent for components that are not contributing to the Cx plus value do not get overwritten with 0. In the table above in example #4 with the Cx plus Type is set to C6+, if the chromatograph sent a value for C6, that value would be overwritten by 0 in the spreading. If the Cx plus Type is set to C7+ and the chromatograph sent a value for C6 that value would not be overwritten by the spreading.

Note: By default, the Cx plus Type is set to C6+.

Configure the Spread Cplus

  1. On the Properties for Gas Quality (GQ): Gas Quality tab, scroll to the Analysis component spreading section.

  2. Select the Cx plus Type. Choices are the following:

    • C6+

    • C7+

    • C8+

    • C9+

    • C10+

Note: If a C6plus value is not provided with the data, the system will calculate the value based on the components contributing to the Cx Plus Type property setting. For example, if Cx Plus Type = C7+, the C6plus value will be calculated from C7, C8, C9, and C10.

  3. Select Spread Cplus to enable the Spread Cplus feature.

  4. Enter the desired Spread Weight of C6, C7, C8, C9, and C10.
