Create an object list: import from a ​.csv or ​.txt file

Follow this procedure to import an existing object list.

1. On the Object List Summary window, select New > Import.

   The Properties for Object List dialog opens.

   

2. Select the (...) in the Filename field.

   The standard Windows Open dialog opens.

3. Navigate to the desired file pathway, and select the .csv or .txt file that you wish to import.

4. Select Open to import the file.

   The file pathway appears in the Filename field on the Properties for Object List dialog.

   

5. In the Properties for Object List dialog, enter a new Name.

6. (Optional) Enter a Description.

7. Select the Dataset.

8. (Optional) Either select Global List to indicate that the object list is global, or clear the checkbox to indicate that the object list is personal.

9. Select Save.

10. Select Display to open the Display Object List window.

    Notes: The system inserts all objects defined in the .csv or .txt file directly into the table.

    The imported list is read-only and cannot be rebuilt.

11. When you are finished, select Close to return to the Object List Summary window.
