Before you begin
You must have your analog and rate points set up in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) before you name them as sources of input on the Host Calculated tab in AVEVA Measurement Advisor . If you assigned names to the inputs before creating the associated analog and rate points, the information can be synchronized to RealTime. There are two ways to force the synchronization:
-
Change one of the properties on the meter or gas quality (GQ) point (e.g., the Description field) and Save.
-
Run an integrity update script. This operation is highly invasive, and not recommended for systems that are in production.
For more information about creating analog or rate points, see the RealTime Administrator documentation.
When you have meters in AVEVA Measurement Advisor that are receiving information from AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas, it is important to understand how the relationship between the two pieces of software functions.
To understand the connection between AVEVA Pipeline Operations - Gas and AVEVA Measurement Advisor
-
The initial meter is created in AVEVA Measurement Advisor through a Save As operation. For more information, see the Configure a meter and Configure a gas quality (GQ) sections of the Meter and Gas Quality chapters.
-
When assigning a group in the Properties for Meter or Properties for GQ windows, you must ensure that the Group selected is of the From SCADA variety. For more information about creating Areas of Responsibility (AORs) and Groups that exist in SCADA, see Create area of responsibility (AOR) areas and groups in SCADA.
-
Assign a Dataset.
-
In order for the meter to be acknowledged by AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas after it has been created in AVEVA Measurement Advisor, the meter must meet one of the following conditions:
-
Must be connected to a remote. (Remotes are created in Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For more information, see the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation).
-
Must have a Data Source of the Host Calculated variety. This data source can be used in conjunction with the following meters:
-
Pulse
-
Manual
-
Orifice
-
Linepack
-
-
-
In order for the GQ to be acknowledged by AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas after it has been created in AVEVA Measurement Advisor, it must meet one of the following conditions:
-
Must have an Analysis Source set to Host Calculated Analysis. This is defined on the GQ tab of the Properties for GQ window.
-
Must be connected to a remote. (Remotes are created in Advanced Database Editor (ADE)).
-
The property Available to RealTime apps must be selected.
