Object List Action Items

Item

Description

Build

Creates the new object list with the selected criteria.

Object List Fields

Field

Description

Name

The name of the list. You cannot use the same name twice. If there is a duplicate name, an error message appears to inform you that the name is already being used.

Description

A short description of the list.

Use Data

Select the Use Data checkbox to query your Measurement records for specific data-related information.

Number of Periods

The number of periods the query is to take into account. For example, if the data is of a daily granularity, and if you relied on data from three days ago when gathering your data, the number of periods would be three.

Number of Periods Back

The default is one. It is considered to be one period before the current period.

List Type

Available object options:

  • Meter. The list contains only meter objects.

  • Gas Quality. The list contains only Gas Quality (GQ) objects.

  • Meter/Gas Quality. The list contains only meter and GQ objects.

  • Measuring Station. The list contains only measuring station objects.

  • Measuring Station+. This list contains all objects found while searching for measuring stations. It includes of all the measuring stations, measurement points, meters and GQs that meet the criteria.

Note: See Configure a Measuring station + list for instructions on how to create a Measuring Station+ List.

  • Meter +. The list contains all objects found while searching for Meter.

The list type "Meter +" is ideal for use in filtering object summaries. For example, if the criteria is a measuring site's name, then the meter contains the following:

    • Measuring site.

    • Stations in that site.

    • Measurement points in the stations.

    • Meters and GQ objects in the measurement points.

How often to rebuild the list

Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Manual.

Notes: The list is built using the current date-time effective configuration. For example, if the metering method property is specified as orifice meter and the meter is changed from an orifice meter to a pulse meter, then, on the next build, the meter will be removed from the list.

The time of the automatic build is determined during the installation of AVEVA Measurement Advisor.

Dataset

This is for replication and control purposes.

Global List

The list can be either global or personal. All users can see and use the Global List. A personal list is only visible to yourself.

Note: You must have the "Meas Object List Global" permission to create a global object list.

Organization

Note: Organization is only available if the MeasContact module is installed.

If selected, the system creates an organization of the same name, and makes all of the meters/GQs in the object list part of that organization.

Selection Criteria

Type

The type of object for performing the search.

Notes: Once type is defined, the Matching column defaults to the Matching selection, and the Rule defaults to Name.

These default selections can be changed by selecting other options from the associated dropdown menus. If you opt to change the type after setting it initially, the Matching and Value fields will also be reset.

Rule

The part of the object on which you wish to search. These are the search criteria.

  • Object ID. Searches for the defined type's Object ID.

  • Description. Searches for information entered into the Description field.

  • Input Unit Profile. Searches for the unit profile used when data is inserted into the system.

  • Output Unit Profile. Searches for the unit profile that will be used to display the data that has been processed by AVEVA Measurement Advisor.

  • Meter Connection State. Searches for meters in a particular connection state.

  • Object List. Search for object lists that have already been created.

  • Object List+. Search inside object lists that have already been created. Use the Conjunction to filter for additional criteria.

  • AOR. Search for objects using a particular Area of Responsibility (AOR) as a chosen filter.

  • AOR Groups. Search for objects using a particular AOR Group as a chosen filter.

  • AOR Groups (Controllable). Search for objects using a controllable AOR Group as a filter.

  • Modified Date. Search for objects using the Modified Date as a filter.

  • Modified By. Search for objects that were modified by a particular user.

  • Data. Search for data that meets the specified criteria.

  • Property. Searches for information associated with the object type's Properties window.

  • Property Changed in Date Range. Search for properties that were set to a certain value between two dates.

Notes: If you select Property or Property Changed in Date Range, the Select [Type] Property window appears when the following icon () is selected. Select the desired property from the window.

The Administrator can add more items to the Select [Type] Property window by modifying the objItemRefer (objItemRefer) table in the DNA\MeasCommon\config\setup\objectRegFiles directory.

  • Connection State Date Range. Search for meters / GQ that were in a given state between two dates (or between the selected date and current date, if only one date is given).

  • Connection State Transition. Search for meters and GQs that have transitioned into a given state between the two dates (or between the selected date and current date if only one date is given).

Matching

How the rule compares with the value.

  • Matching. An exact match.

  • Between. The rule is between two values.

    For example:

    • Meter General. Elevation between 1000-1500.

    • Name. Between M123000 - M123010 (not including M123000 or M123010).

  • Like. Match against a wild card.

The wild card matching uses SQL syntax.

    For example:

    • "Name like SITE%" will match all sites that start with SITE.

  • Not Matching. The opposite of matching.

  • Not Between. The opposite of between.

  • Not Like. The opposite of like.

  • Is Null. Is a null value (this indicates that the field is empty).

  • Is Not Null. Is not a null value (this indicates there is a value in the field).

Value

The value of the selected (Type, Rule, Matching) criteria.

Note: If Null is selected for Matching, the Value cell can not be changed.

Conjunction

To allow you to specify more than one search line. The options are:

  • And

  • Or

  • Union

  • Delete.

Notes: If you select And or Or, another selection line appears.

Selecting Union allows you to create a search line that brings together two mutually exclusive properties.

Select Delete to remove the selection line.
