Properties for gas quality (GQ): host calculated tab

Properties for gas quality (GQ): host calculated tab

  • Last UpdatedNov 20, 2025
  • 3 minute read

This tab is used to define the Gas Quality (GQ) Properties that are unique to a Host-Calculated GQ.

Note: You must ensure that the associated SCADA points are created in the SCADA system.

For this tab to be visible, the Analysis Source must be set to Host Calculated Analysis. These properties define where the input for the host calculation is read from and what type of host calculation is performed.

If the information cannot be retrieved from the SCADA points, alarms are generated in the Alarm and Event Summaries associated with the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas information. This information is used by the Gas Quality Summary and Gas Quality Data Editor windows.

For more information, refer to the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas documentation, as well as the The connection between AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Gas and AVEVA Measurement Advisor section in the SCADA Interface chapter of this document.

Analog points are configured in the RealTime database (RTDB). For more information about analog point configuration, refer to volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

Description

Host Calculated Analysis

Generate history?

Select to generate hourly Historical information. This is calculated as an hourly average.

Generate daily history?

Select to generate daily Historical information. The daily history is calculated as a daily average.

Generate sampled history?

Select to collect an instantaneous spot sample. For example, if the sample was due to the taken at 12:19 PM, and the host-calculated value is reporting a value of 347.00, that would be the value sent to the Measurement system, even if over the course of the hour, the averaged data yielded a value of 434.00.

Sampled History Interval

The sampled history interval defines the frequency at which a sample will be taken. This is the frequency at which the host-calculated data is sent from the RealTime database to Measurement.

Calculate heating value

Select to calculate the heating value.

Compute cricodentherm

Select to compute the cricodentherm.
