How connectivity changes affect accounting close

  • Last UpdatedOct 22, 2025

When Accounting Close is enabled, the station volume and balance data is always automatically calculated regardless of the Calculation Policy setting.

A balance recalculation occurs:

  • When the data at an associated meter changes causing a re-balance of the station volume data and any affected higher-level balances

  • When there is either a Measurement Connectivity change affecting a station or a Balance Connectivity change affecting a balance object. In this case, only the affected station or balance objects are rebalanced.

If the accounting object (station and any higher-level objects) have had an accounting close issued, prior period adjustments (PPAs) will be generated for the rebalanced data.
