Validation objects

A validation object handles a particular type of validation check.

A validation object contains validation rules that apply to all connected meters/gas qualities (GQs).

Once a validation object has been created, and the rules configured, you can apply them to the GQ or meter via the Properties for Validation Object window or the Properties for Meter/GQ window. In order to save time in configuring validation, some rules are best set up using the Validation Summary to be applied to connected meters and GQs. For example, all meters of the same type will have similar validation rules. Other validation rules need to be configured on a meter-by-meter basis and can be configured in the validation tabs for the meters and GQs.

The types of validation objects for Meters are:

  • Meter Lagged Alt. Validation

  • Meter Daily vs Aggregations

  • Meter Hourly vs Aggregations

  • Meter Frozen Validation

  • Meter Frozen Valid. (Daily)

  • Meter Historical Avg. Valid.

  • Meter Operational Validation

The types of validation objects for GQs are:

  • GQ Operational Validation

  • GQ Reasonability Validation

  • GQ Frozen Validation

  • GQ Daily vs Averages

  • GQ Lagged Alt. Validation

  • GQ Lagged Alt. Gas Quality

  • GQ Sample Confirmation Validation Check
