Combined gas quality check

  • Last UpdatedSep 25, 2024
  • 1 minute read

The Combined Gas Quality Check detects when field devices are operating outside limits that they are expected to report.

This check is performed after the data is loaded into the tables, and only if the following conditions are met:

  • Gas Quality (GQ) is active.

  • The check is enabled.

This check is applied to do the following:

  • Combined CO2 + N2 (total amount of CO2 and N2).

  • Combined C5+ (total amount of liquefying hydrocarbons; hydrocarbons that contain more than 4 carbons).

The following algorithm is used to detect if the combined GQ is operating outside the defined limits.

As long the new value falls between the engineering limits, the statement is true. If the new value renders the following statement false, the value (combined CO2+N2 or combined C5+) is highlighted in the Data Editor window.

Lo < Val < Hi

Where:

The combined GQ check is configured through the Gas Quality Validation tab.

  • Val = Combined CO2+N2 or C5+

  • Hi = High engineering limit

  • Lo = Low engineering limit

The processing will continue regardless if the outcome is true or false.
