Section Pline Realign Rule Definition

Click to open the Section Pline Realign Rule Definition window, the justification line of the imported GENSECs can be set to the Top/NA/Bottom Pline of the GENSEC.

Adjust Section Position while updating Pline

While the beams are updating the justification line according to the Section Pline Realign Rule, the appearance of the beams changes (Picture 1).

If this option is chosen, the position of the beams are also changed to keep the beams looking the same when the justification line of the beams are changed (Picture 2).

Note:
The position of the model is different from the one in Staad Pro.

Braces Connect to NA of Beams - if this option is chosen, the braces connect to NA of the beams. Otherwise the braces connect to the justification line of the beams.

Save Logic Sections to file While Adjusting

In Staad Pro, the sections are split by nodes. These sections are merged into a whole section according to some rules while they are imported to AVEVA E3D Design.

In this case, there is only one section number stored in the AVEVA E3D Design database. The option stores the merged section numbers in a text file.

By default, the Save Logic Sections to file While Adjusting check box is selected. If the Save Logic Sections to file While Adjusting check box is deselected, the text field and Browse options become inactive.

When a previously imported model is output, the Read Logic GENSECs check box can be selected, and the name of the merged section numbers text file can be input. The output function can read and output the model with the same number as the imported STD file.

Note:
When outputting the model, the interface assesses the numbers of the split GENSECs by their start and end nodes. If the GENSEC is changed, the GENSEC may be renumbered.

Import Group

The group information in Staad Pro can be imported when this box is checked. Groups are stored in a GPSET element in AVEVA E3D Design. The GPWL and GPSET elements must be created using the collections functionality in AVEVA E3D Design before the STD model is imported.

The Import Group check box, Storage GPWL text field and CE options become inactive if the Save Logic Sections to file While Adjusting check box is deselected.

When a previously imported model is output, previously defined groups can also be output using a GPSET element.

Note:
The logic GENSEC number file and the GPSET must be imported with the same model.
