Parameter Files

Parameter files contain information that Building Applications uses while in operation. Building Applications is supplied with a number of example parameter files. Metric and imperial versions of the standard parameter files are available. In addition, a set of metric parameter files reflecting the KKS naming system are also supplied.

Each product has minimum requirements for the parameter files used. These requirements along with a description of significant parameter files are described in the sections that follow.

Parameter files need to be placed in a separate project defaults folder and are used exclusively for Building Applications, for example. SAMDFLTS. The files are contained within three sub-folders, one for each product:

• concrete_design

• concrete_quantities

• room_manager

Parameter files are read when the Building Applications are loaded and stored in global variables. If required the AVEVA administrator can investigate these files. The administrator must find the parameters files (dflts) supplied with the product.
