Modify Location Defined View

A location defined view can be modified using the Format 2D tab (refer to Format 2D View for further information). Additional modification options are available using the Properties window. Refer to Properties for further information.

Advanced view type

Displays the view type. By default, the field is populated with Location Defined. The view type cannot be modified.

Depth Behind

Input a value in the field to define the elements that display in the view, measured from the location plane. All elements that are positioned within the depth value display in the location defined view. The default is 100mm.

Depth in Front

Input a value in the field to define the elements that display in the view, measured from the location plane. All elements that are positioned within the depth value display in the location defined view. The default is 100mm.

Location Plane

Input a value in the field to modify the location plane. Only a location plane along the same orientation can be used.

The location plane value determines the location orientation for the view. It also determines an initial box for the view limits.

Location planes based on physical planes can be used for any model element with POS, ORI and WVOL (considered with respect to the world).

  • The POS serves as a basis for the depth.

  • The ORI serves as a basis for the initial view direction.

  • The enclosing box volume (WVOL) is retrieved from the model element that serves as a basis for the location.

Location planes based on frame positions (for example, FR23) refer to a GRIDPL element that behaves like a model element when it comes to POS, ORI and WVOL.

Location planes based on coordinate values, for example, POS and ORI (direction) are implicitly defined by the coordinate value (for example, X=1000 where POS=1000,0,0 and DIR=X). The enclosing box volume is defined by the WVOL for the closest GRIDPL.

Orientation

Input a value in the field or select from the drop-down list to modify the view orientation. Only a view orientation along the same plane can be used. For example a view in the X orientation can be modified to -X.
