Create Section Plane on View Projection

Creates a section plane; in which a projection view is specified, from which multiple points are selected to form an area. The part of the view within this area is removed.

You are prompted to Specify a point or

Input V at the prompt and press Enter.

You are then prompted to Specify projection

To specify the projection direction, move the cursor to the appropriate side of the view and click. For example, if the projection is a view of the objects from the top, move the cursor to the top of the view. The objects in the 3D preview image change to reflect their appearance from the selected direction.

You are then prompted to Specify a point or

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the location of the section plane position.

You are again prompted to Specify a point or

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the section plane position. The shaded area indicates the area to be removed.

You are then prompted to Specify a point or <Finish>

The prompt is repeated allowing you to create multiple section plane positions.

Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command. The shaded area is removed from the view.

Throughout the section plane creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

Perpendicular

Press the down arrow key and select Perpendicular to create a perpendicular section plane. Refer to Create 2D Perpendicular Section Plane view for further information.

Flat

Press the down arrow key and select Flat to create a flat section plane. Refer to Create 2D Flat Section Plane for further information.

View

Press the down arrow key and select View to create a section plane using a specified view projection.

Side

Press the down arrow key and select Side to define which side of the section plane displays in the view. A shaded area indicates the side of the section plane that an area of the view is removed from.

Close

Press the down arrow key and select Close to create a closed section plane.

Back

Press the down arrow key and select Back to undo the last action.

Finish

Press the down arrow key and select Finish to end the command.

Open

Press the down arrow key and select Open to create an open ended section plane by moving the cursor across the view.
