Page Settings

Defines the page settings for the report.

In Reporting, the report page settings can be defined in one of two ways. The page settings can either use the default printer settings when the report is printed, or use report-specific printer settings.

Default Printer Settings

The page orientation and paper size can be set to use printer settings instead of the report specific settings. This is useful for reports that are printed in several places using different printers and printer settings.

1. Deselect all controls and make sure the report name is displayed at the top of the Properties window.

2. On the Properties window, click the Miscellaneous tab.

   

3. Expand the Using Settings of the Default Printer property.

4. Select the Use Landscape check box to use the landscape setting from the default printer. The Landscape check box at the top of the Properties window becomes inactive.

5. Select the Use Paper Kind check box to use the page size setting from the default printer. The Use Paper Kind property displayed at the top of the Properties window becomes inactive.

Report Specific Page Settings

The page orientation and margins can be explicitly defined for the report. The margin values are displayed using the default unit of measure. Predefined paper sizes or printer paper sizes can be selected, custom paper sizes can also be created.

6. Deselect all controls and make sure the report name is displayed at the top of the Properties window.

7. On the Properties window, click the Miscellaneous tab.

   

8. Modify the Margins explicitly.

9. Select a predefined page size from the Paper Kind drop-down list.

   Alternatively, select Custom from the Paper Kind drop-down list, the Page Height, Page Width and Paper Name fields become active.

   Alternatively, select Custom from the Paper Kind drop-down list, select a printer from the Printer Name drop-down list and select a page size associated with the printer from the Paper Name drop-down list.

   The modified settings affect the layout of the report design area. After modification, controls positioned outside of the page margins are displayed red.

   

Run Report Window Page Setup

The page setup can be modified using the Run Report window.

10. On the Run Report window, click the Print Preview tab.

11. Click the Page Setup launcher to display the Page Setup window.

    

    The functionality available can be used to adjust the page layout before the report is printed or exported.

    The margins can also be set by dragging the dashed lines on the Run Report window.
