Fly Mode

Navigates freely through the model in any direction. Modelled data and laser survey data can be examined as if walking about the site.

Fly mode can be used as a mechanism of reviewing existing conditions and integration of the updated model. When fly mode is entered, you can control the view point and move in a number of directions combining forward movement and rotation to look left, right, up or down.

The movement speed is controlled using the view configuration options.

Once fly mode is entered, rotate the mouse wheel or out to zoom in to the model area to be viewed.

Depress the left mouse button and move the cursor away from the cross to move forward and rotate. The view plane rotates towards the cursor allowing you to move in any direction. The speed of movement is proportional to the distance between the cursor and the cross.

Press Shift whilst moving to increase the speed of movement.

Press CTRL whilst moving to decrease the speed of movement.

Release the left mouse button to stop moving.

Depress the middle mouse button to rotate around a fixed position.

Depress the right mouse button to rotate around a fixed position.

Press ESC to exit fly mode.
