Odd and Even Styles

Creates alternating data fields in a report for better readability.

Create a new report.

Bind the report to a data source.

On the Field List window, click the Field List tab and select the required field item.

Drag and drop the selected field item onto the Detail blank space of the report. A control is created which displays the name of the field item and the yellow database icon. Add multiple field items to the report.

Click the Detail band on the report.

On the Properties window, click the Appearance tab, expand the Styles property and select New from the Even Style drop-down list.
Style1 is applied to the Even Style property.

Expand the Even Style property and set the Background Color property to Beige (or any other of the available properties in this section as required).

Repeat the previous three steps for the Odd Style property. For example, create a new style and set the Background Color property to Ivory.

Click the Print Preview tab to display the result.

If a different style is required for a field, click the required field on the report.

On the Properties window, click the Appearance tab, expand the Styles property and select New from the Style drop-down list.
Style3 is applied to the Style property.

Expand the Style property and set the Background Color property to LightGray (or any other of the available properties in this section as required).

Click the Print Preview tab to display the result.
