Flooding Volume

Flooding volume is a partial room volume based on the flooding height, with the volume the user can then establish fluid quantities, surface areas for protective coatings (water proof paint) and an inventory of the elements present within the flooded space. As with Inventory volume the same basic reporting functionality is available.

To create a new Flooding Volume element make sure a Room element is selected in the Building Applications window. On the BUILDING tab in the Create group, select Flooding volume from the drop-down-list to display the Create Flooding volume window.

The application populates the Name field with a name based on the project or company autonaming rules.

By default the Use gaps in naming sequence and Ignore overlapping element adjustments checkboxes are selected.

These calculations do not take into account the fact that elements may overlap each other. This can result in air volumes that are less than real value. if this is likely to be significant, the user can deduct these overlaps, click to clear the Ignore overlapping elements adjustments checkbox.

Note:
This may considerably increase the time taken to do the calculation.

Click Apply to create a new Flooding volume element, the Modify Flooding volume window is displayed and the Flooding volume (AREADE) element is displayed in the Building Applications window.

Click Dismiss to discard any inputs and close the Create Flooding volume window.
