Draw Functionality in Model

It is possible to activate a subset of the Draw functionality in Model. Drawings can be viewed, created and modified. The functionality is available using an additional Draw tab.

To display the Draw tab in Model, some specific actions must be performed:

• The Model module must have access to the Draw databases. Read access allows drawings to be opened and viewed. Write access allows the creation of new drawings and the modification of existing drawings. Module setup is managed using AVEVA Administration for the projects you want to use.

• The MDB must have access to a PADD database. To create new drawings or modify existing drawings, the current user must have write access.

• The windows environment variable AVEVA_E3D_DRAWINMODEL must be set to TRUE when Model is launched. The windows environment variable can be added to the evars.ini, evars.bat or custom_evars.bat file. This activates Draw functionality in Model for all projects. If you would like to activate the functionality for a specific project, you can modify the project_evars.bat file.

The functionality available on the Draw tab is identical to the Draw module. Refer to the Draw documentation for further information.
