CONNECT Authentication

As AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer is a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, all whitespace computations pass through the Cloud which requires CONNECT authentication.

When AVEVA E3D Design is launched for the first time with CONNECT authentication enabled, you will be asked to verify your details through the AVEVA Connect Sign in window.

CONNECT authentication is a once only interaction, after initial authentication, CONNECT automatically authenticates against the verified account.

Prerequisites

To enable CONNECT authentication:

• A new system environment variable setting: "AVEVA_CONNECT_LOGIN = true"

• A valid CONNECT ID

• Membership to a CONNECT account that has permission to use AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer.

  Note:
  In certain circumstances a timeout can occur during the session and CONNECT is exited. This requires you to verify your details by signing in to CONNECT with your user information.

If you are not authenticated before running AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer in AVEVA E3D Design, an error message displays summarizing the problem.
