Room Manager

A Plant is contained within a complex structure that consists of many different but interconnected buildings. Each of these consists of many individual rooms organized across many levels.

The design of many aspects of the Plant, such as pipework, will be carried out across large areas of the plant on a ‘per system’ basis. However, the construction of the plant will be organized in a very different way – on an individual room or level. Many of the key studies that need to be carried out during the design and approval of the plant rely on accurate information about the environment within which given parts of the plant are located (for example, the radiation level, ambient temperature or flooding risk). This, in turn, is determined by the room space within which it is located.

AVEVA Room Manager is a specialist add-on application that works within AVEVA’s world-leading 3D plant design system, AVEVA E3D Design to address these requirements. It adds the ability to manage an AVEVA E3D Design design for a Plant on a per room basis. Accurate, up-to-date material take offs (MTOs) and inventories can then be automatically produced on an individual room basis or for any given groups of rooms that equate to a Construction area or Fire Safety Zone.

The Room definitions and associated data (such as radiation level) that the software stores in AVEVA E3D Design can then be used to derive the environmental conditions for any given component, as required by all kinds of studies and analysis such as, for example, flooding, painting or maintenance studies.
