Key features are the objective preference features key to the baseline legibility of a white spaced sheet. The key features are non-configurable.
A-A Overlap
Defines overlaps between the main geometry of an annotation and the main geometry or connection line of another annotation. A-A overlap is a non-configurable key feature.
CONL-CONL Intersection
Defines intersections between connection lines.
There are two types of CONL-CONL intersections:
-
Non-configurable key feature: two label leader lines intersect with each other, if both labels have the Anno intersection allowed option set to False.
-
Not a key feature: any other combination of two connection lines that intersect with each other, for example:
-
Two label leader lines, at least one of them has the Anno intersection allowed option set to CONL only or True.
-
A label leader line with any other connection line (for example, a dimension projection line).
-
Two dimension projection lines.
-
Any two primitives represented as connection lines.
-
When a CONL-CONL intersection occurs that is not a key feature, although preferable to the key feature CONL-CONL, it is still lightly penalized to indicate that no intersection is the preferable scenario.
As a result of this, accepting a dimension projection line to dimension projection line intersection may lead to an improved layout which avoids, for example, an A-RS overlap.
