Workflow

The workflow for Import/Replace is the same as for other imports, but with these differences:

In the Destination pane of the IFC Import form, select the Replace existing objects option in the Handle Changes section.

If the selected destination does not contain a previous version of the model to import, an error is displayed. Select the correct destination.

Click the icon in the Handle Changes section to open the Handle Changes form. Select options for tracking changes and for deletion of items that exist in the current model but not in the import.

If the Select missing objects to delete option is selected in the Handle Changes form, then the Select missing objects to delete form opens when you click Import.

To enable identification of the model to replace beneath the destination, we recommend that the versioned model file name ends with:

v/V<numeric number>
