The following excerpt from a Specification for structural steelwork components illustrates some of the features defined in the preceding sections:

Note:
The Reference Pointers Detail Text (DETAIL), Material Text (MATXT), Component Properties (CMPREF) and Bolt Reference (BLTREF) have been omitted to save space. Although these are available to give consistency with Piping Specifications, you are unlikely to use these for structural components (BLTREF, in particular, would have no meaning for a structural component). No defaults have been set in this example.
