Note: Because visual queries provide a generic capability not specific to work packs, visual queries are also available from the Tools tab.
Visual queries allow model content to be viewed with different visual properties according to selected criteria, for example, categories of items according to their design or construction status. Queries are configured by an administrator and made available to project users. Selected queries can be run against the content of the drawlist or the current element. Queries can be grouped into sets for use for a common purpose. For example, use one set for each status value in a workflow for model elements, or one for each discipline in a design area.
Click Run in the Visual Queries group on the ribbon. Use the Run Visual Queries window to display model content in the 3D view.

Drawlist
Runs the queries against the drawlist.
Note:
Visual queries on element types such as work packs and spools (for example, WKPACK,
PSPOOL, HSPOOL, PPIECE, SPOOL and FIELD) that do not appear in the drawlist display
results only when run against CE (for example, with CWAREA as the current element).
Consider whether active queries could conflict with each other. For example, if a
work pack contains spools, and separate queries are available for work packs and spools,
then the results are dependent on which queries are selected to be active.
CE
Runs the queries against the current element.
Set Monochrome at Start
Select the check box to apply monochrome mode to the 3D view when the query is run. The model content displays as greyscale acting as a background for the queried elements which display in color.
