Manually Create Snipes

Manually creates a support framework snipe.
You are prompted to Pick Section :
Note:
The prompt does not display if the support structural member is already selected.
Click to identify the support structural member using a cursor pick in the 3D view to display the Snipes window.

The Snipes window allows you to create, modify, delete, position and size snipes.

Click to select the existing support structural member as the current element. Alternatively you can input a name in the field. |

Pick section end |
Click to identify the end of the support structural member to be associated with the Snipe using a cursor pick in the 3D view. You are prompted Pick SNIPE edge or leg of end of angle where you want it to be created: The 3D view indicates the position of the Snipe and that it has not been created. Click Apply to create the Snipe.

Enable disable/automatic creation of snipes |
Click Auto to identify the end of the support structural member to be associated with the snipe using a cursor pick in the 3D view. You are prompted Pick SNIPE edge or leg of end of angle where you want it to be created: The 3D view indicates the position of the snipe and that it has been created.
You can continue to identify additional support structural member ends to be associated with Snipes. Click Auto again to disable the functionality. |

Select Sniped End |
Select the Start option button to associate the start of the currently selected support structural member with the Snipe. Select the End option button to associate the end of the currently selected support structural member with the Snipe. |

Select Angle Leg |
Select the Top option button to associate the top of the currently selected support structural member with the Snipe. Select the Left option button to associate the top of the currently selected support structural member with the Snipe. |

Snipe Length |
Input a dimensional value in the field to define the snipe length. The Supports application checks the entered values. If a value is less than the minimum (fixed at 10mm) then it is reset to the minimum size. If it is greater than the maximum, it is reset to the maximum size. The maximum size depends on the angle size and is calculated using the difference between the size of the angle leg where the snipe is intended/created and the thickness of the angle leg. |

Snipe Height |
Input a dimensional value in the field to define the snipe height. The Supports application checks the entered values. If a value is less than the minimum (fixed at 10mm) then it is reset to the minimum size. If it is greater than the maximum, it is reset to the maximum size. The maximum size depends on the angle size and is calculated using the difference between the size of the angle leg where the snipe is intended/created and the thickness of the angle leg. |

Lock |
Click Lock to lock the values of the Snipe Length and Snipe Height fields. If you input a value into one of the fields, the other field is populated with the same value, by default Click Lock again to disable the functionality. |

Apply to All |
Select the check box to create snipes on all available surfaces of the support structural member. The number of snipes to be created is indicated adjacent to the check box. |
Click Create to create a snipe.
Click Modify to modify an existing snipe.
Click Delete to delete an existing snipe.
Click Cancel to discard any changes and close the Snipes window.

The new JLDATU, PLDATU and FIXING elements are added to the owning GENSEC and display in the Model Explorer.
