The Association Manager allows you to view all the associations that have been created using the Equipment Associations utility.
There can be many associations created in a project with various filtering methods. The following options are self explanatory.

There are three panes. The first is the list of the chosen associations.

The Associations pane displays the following:
-
Association
-
A description of the association
-
The purpose of the association (PURP attribute)
-
The Status of the association (such as Passed or Failed)
-
The two associated item names
To group the entries according to a particular column, drag the column header to the indicated location.
The Restrictions pane displays the restrictions that make up the association and the status of the restriction.
Note:
Most associations are made up of one restriction but a few are made up of a number
of restrictions any of which can lead to the failure of the association.

The Association Detail pane provides information about the selected restriction.

The above example displays that the restriction has failed because the distance qualifier is 2000, but the actual distance between the points is 913.
The Associations pane has several right-click menu options.

The View Associated Elements option creates a new view and only displays the association elements, for example:

In the figure ‘MYFA’ in the purpose attribute (PURP) of the P-points of the items that have been selected as reference (connection) points for the association. P-points (or P-lines) to be used in associations are identified by a 4-character PURP attribute which ends in ‘FA’).
The other menu options allow navigation to the association items, (such as make the association or an association item the current element), deletions of an association, or saving the associations table as an Excel file.
The Association Detail pane has a right-click option Navigate to Target, which navigates to the selected target.
