Exporting Draw Drawings Containing TrueType Fonts

This section refers specifically to Microstation 8. The method used involves the use of standard components used for other font types.

When Microstation opens a drawing that uses TrueType fonts, all of these fonts are required to be installed on that machine. Also, the E3DAPSTT.rsc resource file or its equivalent must be added to the Microstation installation.

The Microstation font resource file is used to define the font mappings from Draw and to identify the font identities. In this case the fonts have to be identified by the font file names rather than the font Face names and fonts are selected from the fonts folder held by the operating system. The adjustment for font width corrections is handled font by font in the MAPFONT definition. No further font corrections are required.
