Hanger Design Templates

Hangers designed using supplier-specific hanger components are template driven. Sample templates are provided within the following databases in the APS project:

• MDS/DESITMPL-GRINNEL

• MDS/DESITMPL-PIHASA

• MDS/DESITMPL-PSL

  Note: The component sets provided by these databases are based upon manufacturers data that is not maintained in line with current product lines. The data contained within is therefore provided as sample data.

The template data is stored in the model in an application data world and is named APPLDW/SUPPORT/HANGERS/PSL.

Note: PIHASA and GRINNEL standards are named similarly

It is possible to configure the design templates to suit the needs of the user. This might be to customize components in the template; add additional templates for other pipe bores or to add additional template data worlds based upon other manufacturers component catalogues.

Note: In order for a hanger design template application world to be registered for use within the Supports application it must be set with:

PURPOSE MDSH

Each hanger template has its own ZONE and SUPPO. Each size of a given hanger configuration is represented by a HANG element. Three sets of sample hanger templates are supplied with the application, one for each Hanger components supplier (GRINNELL, PSL and PIHASA).
