To create a Design Template reference in a specification, the User must enter the Catalog Explorer. The User can then modify an existing Specification (SPEC) by creating a new Specification Component (SPCO) and defining the Tmpref attribute to reference the Design Template.
On the Home tab, in the Navigate group, click Catalog to display the Catalog Explorer.

The User can navigate to the Specification Selector (SELE) and create a Specification Component (SPCO).
For example, to create a new SPCO in the Panel Fittings Specification, navigate to MASTER/STLCATA > SPWL STRUT/PENI/SPEC > SELE 1 > SELE 3.
To create a new SPCO using the Command Window, on the Home tab, in the Windows group, click Command Window.

To create a new SPCO named "KICKPLATE" input the following command into the Command Window:
NEW SPCO /TMPL/SAMPLE/KICKPLATE
The modify the TMPREF attribute to "KICKPLATE-1", input the following command into the Command Window:
TMPREF /KICKPLATE-1
The template now exists in the Design Database (DB) and a new specification component, pointing to the template, is added into the Catalog DB.
The User can enter the Structures application and create a Panel Fitting by selecting KICKPLATE from the list of available Fitting Specifications. Refer to Structural Design for further information.
