AVEVA™ E3D Design

Application Defaults

Sets the application defaults, some defaults can be modified by the user.

All values display in the current format for distance units set for AVEVA E3D Design.

Note:
Any changes made by the user are temporary and apply only to the current session. To make the changes to the defaults permanent, the applicable administration windows must be modified.

Support Creation Zone and Templates

Displays the default zone for supports, framework templates, special templates and hanger templates.

To modify the defaults, click Select to display the Creation Zone and Framework Templates window. Refer to Default Creation Zone and Templates for further information.

Application Tolerances

Pipe Clearance

Input a value in the field to modify the default pipe clearance. Refer to Pipe Clearance (MDSSUPPCL) for further information.

Max. Pipe Slope

Input a value in the field to modify the maximum allowable pipe slope for horizontal supports. Refer to Max. Pipe Slope (MDSSUPPMS) for further information.

Steelwork Overlap

Input a value in the field to modify the default overlap distance for steelwork overlap joints. Refer to Steelwork Overlap (MDSSUPPOV) for further information.

Max. Packing Distance

Input a value in the field to modify the maximum allowable packing distance. Refer to Max. Packing Overlap (MDSPACKMO) for further information.

Max. Packing Overlap

Input a value in the field to modify the maximum allowable packing overlap. Refer to Max. Packing Overlap (MDSPACKMO) for further information.

ID Settings

Select the Normal option button to position supports on implied pipe elements.

Select the Lined option button to position supports on fixed tube FTUB length pipe elements.

Ancillary Selection Settings

Select the check box to define that the Ancillary Selection window always displays when an ancillary selection is required.

Deselect the check box to allow the Supports application to auto select an ancillary if only one ancillary is available for selection. The Ancillary Selection window does not display.

Miscellaneous

Max. Pipe Angle

Displays the maximum allowable pipe angle for hangers. Refer to Max. Horizontal Angle (MDSMAXHANG) for further information.

Special Num. Prefix

Displays the prefix for special support numbers.

Special Num. Unique

Displays the current setting for unique special support numbering.

Transport Prefix

Displays the prefix for transportation supports. Refer to Transport Prefix (MDSTRANPREF) and Transport Text (MDSTRANISO) for further information.

Alternate Repr Level

Displays the default drawing level attribute for additions of Model elements. Refer to Alternate Representation Level (MDSLEVCHANGE) for further information.

Transport Text

Displays the default transportation text string to display on the piping isometric. Refer to Transport Prefix (MDSTRANPREF) and Transport Text (MDSTRANISO) for further information.

Hangers

Max. Pivot Angle

Displays the maximum allowable hanger pivot angle. Refer to Max. Pivot Angle (MDSMAXPIVA) for further information.

User Warning Angle

Displays the maximum allowable hanger pivot angle above which a warning displays to the user. Refer to Max. Pivot Angle (MDSMAXPIVA) for further information.

Min Rod Length

Input a value in the field to modify the minimum allowable rod length for hangers. Refer to Min. Rod Length (MDSMINHANG) for further information.

Hanger Interface in Use.

Select from the drop-down list to define the hanger interface currently in use. Refer to Project Hanger Interface (MDSHANGIF) for further information.

Steelwork Connection Details

Automatic Pads

Select from the drop-down list to define the options for automatic pads. Refer to Automatic Pads for further information.

Joint Offset

Input a value in the field to modify the value used by the integrity checker for joint eccentricity. Refer to Joint Offset (MDSOFFSET) for further information.

Defaults

Click to return the Supports Application Defaults window to the default settings.

Flange Gaps

Allows the user to define the framework geometry with flange gaps. Refer to Flange Gaps for further information.

Compensation Options

Displays the default settings for the creation of compensation plates.

To modify the defaults, click Compensation Options to display the Supports Compensation Options window. Refer to Compensation Plates for further information.

Click OK to apply the supports defaults or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Supports Application Defaults window.
