Export to PDF

Exports a drawing or drawings to a PDF file.

Export

Click to export the current sheet. By default, the exported file is named using the sheet name and the current revision number (if a revision is present).

When Export is selected, the current export settings are saved.

Multi Export

Select Export to multiple files from the drop-down list to export multiple sheets to individual files. By default, each exported file is named using the sheet name and the current revision number (if a revision is present).

Select Export to single file from the drop-down list to export multiple sheets to a single file. By default, the export file is auto named.

Select Export each DRWG to separate file from the drop-down list to export multiple drawings to individual files. All selected sheets in a drawing are exported to a single file. By default, the export file is named using the drawing name.

Refer to Export Multiple Sheets for further information.

Specify the export type

Select Export to PDF from the drop-down list to define a PDF file as the export format.

Specify PDF file version

Allows you to define the exported PDF file version. Click to display a drop-down list.

Select the required export file version from the drop-down list.

Specify plot styles

Allows you to define the colour, fill and line style settings for the export. Click to display a drop-down list.

Select Default from the drop-down list, the colour, fill and line style settings are not changed.

Select Monochrome from the drop-down list to export all colours as black and white.

Select Greyscale from the drop-down list to export all colours as greyscale.

As well as the default plot styles provided with the product, additional plot styles can be created. Refer to Plot Style for further information.

Specify the object type to be exported

Allows you to define the export area. Click to display a drop-down list.

Select Sheet from the drop-down list to export the currently selected sheet.

Select Display from the drop-down list to export the current display area of a sheet.

Select Extents from the drop-down list to export the extents of a sheet.

Select Window from the drop-down list to export a display area defined by you. Click Specify window to define the display area to be exported.

Specify window

Click to define the area to be exported. The application displays the current sheet.

You are prompted to Specify first corner

Click to identify the first corner of the export area.

You are then prompted to Specify opposite corner

Click to identify the opposite corner of the export area.

Specify scale

Allows you to define the exported drawing scale. Click to display a drop-down list.

You can select a preset scale from the drop-down list.

Alternatively, input scale nominator and denominator values in the adjacent fields

Note:
If a scale of 1:1 is selected from the drop-down list and the Fit to Paper check box is not selected, the exported sheet size for each sheet is identical to the original sheet size when a Multi Export is performed.

Fit to paper

Select the check box to scale the exported output to the selected page size, by default.

Specify paper orientation

Allows you to define the exported page orientation. Click to display a drop-down list.

Select Landscape Orientation to export the sheet as Landscape.

Select Landscape Upside Down Orientation to export the sheet as Landscape Upside Down.

Select Portrait Orientation to export the sheet as Portrait.

Select Landscape Upside Down Orientation to export the sheet as Landscape Upside Down.

Specify paper size

Allows you to define the exported page size. Click to display a drop-down list, you can select an available page size.

Centre to Paper

Select the check box to centre the exported output on the paper.

Alternatively, you can de-select the check box and input coordinates in the X and Y fields to define the centre point of the exported area.

Embed Font Data

Select the check box to include font data in the exported file. This option can greatly increase the size of the exported file. Optimize Fonts becomes available.

If the check box is not selected, font data is not embedded in output file. In some cases, the appearance of the exported file may be affected.

Optimize Fonts

Select the check box to remove unused symbols from the font data of the exported file. This option can greatly decrease the size of the exported file, future editing options will be limited.

Blanking

Select the check box to export labels and dimensions with blanking, if blanking is enabled for the Draw element.

Show View and Region Frames

Select the check box to include the frames of all View frame owners (for example, Views and Regions) in the exported output, if they are enabled in Draw.

Auto Preview

Select the check box to update the export preview as the export settings are changed, by default.

Scale Line Weight

Select the check box to scale line weights on the exported output.

Preview

Click to update the export preview.
