Quick Start

AVEVA Licensing System

Install AVEVA Licensing System. Refer to AVEVA Licensing System Installation Guide for further information.

Note:
The AVEVA Licensing System component is optional and not needed if AVEVA Licensing as a Service is used.

AVEVA E3D Design

Install AVEVA E3D Design. Refer to AVEVA E3D Design Installation Guide for further information.

AVEVA Graphical Changes Service

Install AVEVA Graphical Changes Service. Refer to Graphical Changes Service Installation for further information.

Configure AVEVA Graphical Changes Service. Refer to Graphical Changes Service Configuration for further information.

Navigate to the Task Manager and check that the following services are running on the Details tab:

• Aveva.Core3D.GraphicalChangesMonitor.exe.

• Aveva.Core3D.GraphicalChangesService.exe.

AVEVA E3D Design

Navigate to the AVEVA E3D Design projects, for example, C:\Users\Public\Documents\AVEVA\Projects\E3DX.X\AvevaPlantSample.

Check the GCDcache folder is populated with the content of the ARF graphical view cache.

Launch AVEVA E3D Design, the Graphical Explorer View displays by default on initial entry of the application. The Graphical Explorer View is populated with the contents of the cache.

If AVEVA E3D Design is exited with the Graphical Explorer View displayed, the Graphical Explorer View displays by default when the next session is launched.

If the Graphical Explorer View is not displayed when AVEVA E3D Design is exited, the Graphical Explorer View does not display when the next session is launched. To display the Graphical Explorer View, on the View tab, in the Views group, click Graphical Explorer.
