Save and reload projections

  • Last UpdatedSep 04, 2024

When you have reached a satisfying UV projection, you can save it on disk, so that on reloading the graphic context, the projection is not lost. The Create button is enabled only when the current projection is different than the mesh loaded projection.

If you press the Close button, all UV changes will be reverted to the latest creation event (if any) or to the original state of the mesh.

Save a projection

  • Click Create.

Working with source model changes

As we saw at the beginning, UV projections are baked into .geom file patches. This means that a mesh patched with a custom UV will point to that .geom file.

Sometimes, MWX files might need to be changed and re-imported. If these changes affect a patched mesh, you will not see the newly imported geometries for those meshes, because they are loaded from a patch calculated on the previous source. For this reason, the UV Edit Panel features a Reset button. If clicked, the selected mesh patch is erased and the mesh is reloaded.

Reset a mesh

  • Click Reset. The selected mesh patch is erased and the mesh is reloaded.
