The Message tab gives information about the communications between the AVEVA™ XR engine instance and the other nodes of the application network.

The upper area shows a set of messaging statistics.

The IO Variables window displays a complete list of all the shared fields.

Each field contains the complete unique name and the direction of the share.

Statistics
These statistics display at the top of the Message panel.

Using Messages
This panel can also be used to emulate the incoming/outcoming of a variable value to observe the consequences.
Change current value of a shared field

Select a field in the IO Variables list. Its current value appears in the Current value textbox.

Edit the value.

Click Set Value.
Changing the value of a field from this tab is completely equivalent to changing it from the Nodes panel.
Use Message panel for testing

Select a variable from the list. Notice that current value is displayed in the below area.

Set the desired value.

Press Set Value button.

Observe the consequences on the application.
