Supported capture types

There are two capture types on the Capture Image dialog.

Capture Window (TGA)

  • Produces a TGA snapshot of the current 3D area size. The content corresponds to 100% of display.

  • You can press F5 on the keyboard to achieve the same result. However, in this case, the captured images are automatically stored locally to the project and the filename is captureX.tga where X is a progressive index.

Capture Texture (PNG,BMP,GIF,JPEG,TIFF)

  • Produces an image at a fixed size (Current, 1920x1080,1440x1080,1080x1080).

  • Current will create an image with current Aspect Ratio selected in View Options.

  • The Capture Texture option is designed to produce textures to use inside the application. The conversion is based on the ratio between target screen dimension (expressed in points) and texture resolution.

Samples

The following samples show differences between the two different capture options (TGA capture, PNG capture).
